Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Nassau 79 Matrix...I got your toodeloo>franks right here

HS strikes again with yet another fine effort that truly does justice to one of the great shows from Fall 79. Quality of mix matches the quality of playing in this outstanding show. The Halfstep>Franks opener is a true beast, with the Franks rumbling along like a steam locomotive coming down the Royal Gorge line, gathering speed until it blows ups in a hail of musical shrapnel. Nice. Another highlight for me is the Sailor>Saint. One of the few times I will ever say that. The jam out of saint is just plain silly. The Dead showing off why they were "the only ones who do what they do". Or did. Syntax, sychmintax. Either way, this is an outstanding show and mix from our resident matrix-master. Great way to start off the week, IMHO.
